Dr. Howard Asher was born in Norwalk, Connecticut and proceeded through
the Norwalk Public School system until graduation of Norwalk High School.

Dr. Asher headed north to attend the
University of
Massachusetts for 4 years as a pre-veterinarian major. In his 4
years, he joined and became an officer of the Pre- Veterinarian Animal Science
Club. This club was responsible for bringing guest speakers to
introduce students to the veterinarian field. While at UMass Dr.
Asher was
very involved in another registered student organization,
The Outing Club.
As an
officer as well as an employee of the club, Dr. Asher was responsible for thousands of dollars worth of equipment. While in this club,
he learned new activities and lead many large group hiking, camping, canoeing
and caving trips. He was also co-creator and
organizer for the Connecticut River Challenge which involved 6 people
canoeing down the entire Connecticut river from Canada to the Long Island
sound, totaling over 368 miles of river in just 3 days. This challenge
started with only a hand
full of participants and to this day it has grown to more than 30
participants with sponsors.

After UMass, Dr. Asher spent the next year working locally and had the
great opportunity to travel throughout Europe for 6 weeks. Upon his return
Dr. Asher was accepted to Ross
University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts West Indies and spent the next two and a half years
attending school. There, he found his best friend
Kane, a male Kittician mix breed dog, which he brought back to the States and
has been along side of me in every journey that encountered. After St. Kitts,
Dr. Asher moved to St. Paul, MN to attend the
University of Minnesota College of Veterinarian Medicine to finish
his veterinarian
program.
